If you’re from Adelaide, I can almost guarantee you have seen, or heard, plenty of stickered-up rally cars making their way around the streets of Adelaide this week. It’s finally that time of the year many South Australian car nuts have been waiting for, with the Adelaide Rally kicking off this Thursday, where over 400 entrants will get to enjoy 4 days of driving across some of South Australia's best roads.
If you’ve ever thought about entering the rally or wanted to know what goes into participating, buckle up as we sit down and chat to Kyle Newhill, who although isn’t competing in this year’s rally, is already well underway in his preparation for next year’s event.
We run through everything from what goes into setting up a rally-ready car to compete, the safety gear that is required, what paperwork and licenses drivers and co-drivers need, and look into all the other exciting parts of the rally, apart from obviously getting to drive some of the best roads in the country.
Here’s a little sneak peek into Kyle’s rally preparation so far, with plenty of work underway in getting his gorgeous Honda Integra DC5 ready to compete.
